Mission Statement

The Dallas Chinese School is a gifted and talented, college preparatory weekend school for grades K-12. DCS specializes in preparing students for advanced courses in math and English, including SAT, SAT II, and AP level courses and welcomes students from all diverse cultural backgrounds.

The school was founded in 1985 and is the oldest Chinese school in the Dallas metropolitan area. DCS serves the greater Dallas community including Garland, Richardson, Plano, Bedford, Ft. Worth, Denton, Lewisville, Carollton as well as students from Houston and Austin.

Academic Excellence

The school prides itself on its success rate in preparing and sending its students to the academically highest ranked and most rigorous U.S. and Ivy League colleges. Over 800 DCS alumni have been admitted to the top 10 U.S. colleges (based on U.S. News rankings), including Harvard, Yale, Princeton, MIT, Duke and Stanford.

The academic enrichment program at the school allows gifted and talented children to thrive and further their skills in analytical and critical thinking. Courses at the school include mathematics and verbal and essay writing courses that prepare students for examinations inculding the SAT, SAT II, and AP exams.

Lifelong Learning

The Dallas Chinese School is dedicated to the intellectual development of its students and strongly believes in the benefits of providing students with academic challenges. The diverse curriculum not only prepares the student to be successful on standardized exams but more importantly cultivates the strong foundation and positive lifelong learning attitude to continue to excel in college and beyond. The courses offered at DCS are intended for students who wish to go beyond what is required of their weekday school curriculum, which not only contributes to higher performance in these classes, but also allows students to realize their full potential and promote their intellectual curiosity and independence.

Cultural Diversity and Giving Back to the Community

The Dallas Chinese School also seeks to promote cultural awareness, language, and diversity. The school provides Chinese language courses and believes in the importance of supporting and contributing positively to the local community. The school aims to inspire its students and alumni to volunteer in their local community and give back and participate in activities that promote cultural awareness and diversity.
